Walking in Sunlight
04:02
|
|||
Walking in sunlight
All of my journey
Over the mountain
Through the deep vale
Jesus has said I'll
Never forsake thee
Promise Divine that
Never can fail
Heavenly Sunlight, Heavenly Sunlight
Flooding my soul with glory divine
Halleluiah, I am rejoicing
Singing his praises, Jesus is mine
Shadows around me
Shadows above me
Never conceal my
Savior and guide
He is the light in
Him there's no darkness
Ever I'm walking
Close to his side
Heavenly Sunlight, Heavenly Sunlight
Flooding my soul with glory divine
Halleluiah, I am rejoicing
Singing his praises, Jesus is mine
Halleluiah
I am rejoicing
Singing his praises
Jesus is mine

All I'll Ever Do
03:07
|
|||
You I love
I am in a mess tonight
You’ve gone missing
it’s all right
I’ll build you a house
with my hands I’ll make it be
just you come back and be with me
We’ll make love
I’ll keep loving till the day is bright
Just you come back
it’s all right
I will do all the things that you want me to
Just remember
That’s all I’ll ever do for you
I am the fire
You are the match in the hand in the night
If you want
I’ll quit singing in the band tonight
work on you girl
it’s all right
I will say all the things that you want me to
Just remember
That’s all I’ll ever do for you
I am the fire
You are the match in the hand in the night
You I love
I am in a mess tonight
You’ve gone missing
it’s all right
I will do all the things that you want me to
Just remember
That’s all I’ll ever do for you

Everybody Up There
03:35
|
|||
I need everybody up there
I need a lifting of a heavenly prayer
I need
So much of my life has been a waste
Too many things have been done in haste
Everybody up there can tell you why
It's real important to try, try, try
And he up there must have felt tired and confused
Feeling hopeless in spite of everything they used
He must have looked up there just realizing
He too couldn't get anywhere
I need
He too must have felt lost
When things in life didn't seem worth the cost
Hope everybody up there keeps a watch on me
Need everybody up there to set me free
When you're feeling down
You've got to tell him about your troubles in mind
When you're feeling down
You've got to tell him about your troubles in mind
When you're feeling down
Tell him about your troubles all the time
And you know you're going to end up
End up
I need everybody up there
I need a lifting of a
I need a heavenly prayer
And I need
Everybody up there

All and all is one thing today
One good effort made on its way
To take in a love and pass on a feeling
Of heart in chest slowly unpeeling
Lilly can take it with a smile and not a frown
In the room where she lives blessed I guess
She wears my favor and shows it around
And in doing so I too get blessed
Rules explode and we call her mine
And she has my baby and things are fine
She can't hold her eyes still or her voice
The way nooses hold necks still in excellent poise
Lilly can take it with a smile and not a frown
In the room where she lives blessed I guess
She wears my favor and shows it around
And in doing so I too get blessed
Jug holds a gallon and you hold my arm
And I hold a million in bottle and yarn
And gem isn't sacred when mother has breathed
You know - you told me that
A shark and a dog - now you're laughing
The dog licks the shark dry in your photographing
And I lick you dry until you are laughing
My finger is in your behind
I woke up fat and almost unhappy
But the bigger the laugh the bigger the belly
And I bellow out and the whole bed it shakes
And you smile at my laugh as it rocks you awake

The Wagoner's Lad
03:43
|
|||
Oh hard is the fortune of all woman kind
They’re always controlled, they’re always confined
Controlled by their parents until they are wives
Then slaves to their husbands the rest of their lives
Oh I am a poor girl my fortune is sad
I've always been courted by the wagoner's lad
He courted me daily, by night and by day
Now he is all loaded and going away
Your parents don't like me because I am poor
They say I'm not worthy of entering your door
I work for my living, my money's my own
And if you don't like it you can leave me alone
Your horses are hungry go feed them some hay
Come sit down here by me as long as you may
My horses ain't hungry, they won't eat your hay
So fare you well darling, I'll be on my way
Your wagon needs greasing, your whip is to mend
Come sit down here by me as long as you can
My wagon is greasy, my whip's in my hand
So fare you well darling no longer to stand

Dry Bones
04:09
|
|||
Old Enoch he lived to be three hundred and sixty five
Till the lord came and took him back to heaven alive
I saw, I saw the light from heaven come shining all around
I saw the light come shining, come shining down
When Paul prayed in prison those prison walls came down
And the prison keeper shouted: redeeming love I've found!
I saw, I saw the light from heaven come shining all around
I saw the light come shining, come shining down
When Moses saw that burning bush he walked it round and round
And the lord said to Moses: you're treading holy ground!
I saw, I saw the light from heaven come shining all around
I saw the light come shining, come shining down
Dry bones in the valley got up and took a little walk
The deaf could hear and the dumb could talk
I saw, I saw the light from heaven come shining all around
I saw the light come shining, come shining down
Adam and Eve in the garden, under that sycamore tree
Eve said to Adam: Satan never tempted me!
I saw, I saw the light from heaven come shining all around
I saw the light come shining, come shining down

Backseat Lies
02:56
|
|||
You were living on the eastern shore
You were living out in Singapore
You were saying that maybe it's a sign
Don't tell your backseat lies
You were living in the mouth of the sun
You were breathing in the waterfront
You were saying that maybe it's a sign
Don't tell your backseat lies
I was a dog, I had a name
No one would tell me but I knew all the same
I was a goner but I knew all the same:
I am a king, I've got it made
You were dreaming you were king and queen
with a lady had a face that you had never seen
You said you traded all your armies just to see her eyes
Don't tell your backseat lies

Long Journey
02:57
|
|||
God has given us years of happiness here
Now we must part
And as the angels come and call for you
The pain of grief tugs at my heart
Oh my darling, my darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey
Oh the days will be empty
The nights so long without you my love
And when god calls for you I'm left alone
But we will meet in heaven above
Oh my darling, my darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey
Fond memories I'll keep of happy ways
That on earth we trod
And when I come we will walk hand in hand
As one in heaven in the family of god
Oh my darling, my darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey

Suffering Daughter
03:00
|
|||
Oh suffering daughter mine
Take what's yours and then be done with all your sighing
I won't share one drop of wine
Take your brother's hand
In 1917 he died for all our sins
in the blackest no man's land
Daughter find another place
You'll have lovers you will learn to love disgrace
I don't want to see your face
I gave my breath to bones
with your mother, now we'll suffocate alone
in this place that was our home
Take your brother's lungs
He won't need them, you can use them for a song
Sing for father's poor dead son

Willie Moore
03:31
|
|||
Willie Moore was a King his age was twenty one
he courted a damsel fair
Oh her eyes were as bright as the diamonds in the night
and wavy black was her hair
He courted her both night and day
till married she did agree
but when he went to bid her parents' consent
they said it could never be
She threw herself in Willie Moore's arms
as often times had done before
But little did he think when they parted that night
sweet Ellen would he see no more
It was about the 10th of May
a time I remember well
That very same night her body disappeared
in a way no tongue could tell
Sweet Ellen was loved both far and near,
had friends most all around
And in the little brook before the cottage door
the body of Ellen was found
She was taken by her weeping friends
and carried to her parents' room
And there she dressed in a shroud snowy white
and laid in a lonely tomb
Her parents now are left alone
One mourns and the other one weeps
And in the fresh made mound before the cottage door
the body of Ellen does sleep
This song was composed in the cloudy west
By a man you may never have seen
I will tell you his name but is not in full
His initials are JRG
